Thanks for checking out the Joint Youth Ministry! We are a comprehensive ministry for 6th-12th graders from all over San Jose. We have students from over dozens of local schools who participate regularly in weekly programs, weekend mission trips & retreats, camps, summer outdoor adventures, family events and so much more. In additional to the two staff members, Lisa Jacobs and Katrina Kraynick-Baker, we have a lot of volunteer leaders who love to teach, hang out and listen to your students as they figure out how to grow up in a faithful and healthy way in busy Silicon Valley. The best way to see what we are about is to show up! Any 6th-12th graders, regardless of church, belief or faith affiliation are welcome at all our events! Our consistent programming takes place on Sunday's & Tuesday's, but we have additional events each week too!
Sunday Nights - (4:30pm-6:30pm) Junior High and High School Youth Group (separate youth groups, meeting at the same time with small groups based on age with consistent leaders all year long). Programming alternates between fun games with meaningful discussion and food prep for struggling families & a local tiny home project (Casitas) the following Tuesday!
Tuesday Nights: 1st and 3rd Tuesday - Volunteer at Casitas, de Esperanza a tiny home project in San Jose. We play with kids who live there and cook/eat together from 4:30pm-6:00pm. You can get dropped off there or meet at WGUMC on 4:10pm for a ride over there (please text us if you're needing a ride so we know to wait for you) 2nd Tuesday night - "Dig Deeper" Bible Study: 7:00pm-8:30pm with dinner at Growing Hope's Almaden Hills Campus (1200 Blossom Hill Road) 4th Tuesday night - Taboo Tuesday: 7:00pm-8:30pm with dinner at Growing Hope's Almaden Hills Campus (1200 Blossom Hill Road)
On Sunday's we meet at Willow Glen UMC (WGUMC) - 1420 Newport Ave, SJ 95125 On Tuesday's we either meet at Growing Hope's Almaden Hills Campus- 1200 Blossom Hill Rd, SJ, 95118 OR at Casitas for our service project at 801 North First Street, San Jose.
The Joint Youth Ministry is for any 6th-12th graders interested in being part of a community of faith. You don't have to be from our churches, know anything about God, look or believe a certain way, have money, dress a certain way, have your life perfectly together or be any degree of cool. We are family of students and leaders learning how to Love God and Love others together and we'd be thrilled if you joined us at any event, anytime.
